Saturday:
We recommend arriving by 2 p.m. on Saturday so that you can visit the "Ricci Oddi Modern Art Gallery" in the afternoon (opening hours from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.), one of the largest collections of works dating from 1830 to 1930.
From the Gallery a short walk will lead you to the "Basilica di Sant'Antonino", patron saint of the city, and to the Cathedral, admirable examples of the Romanesque style.
Walking down the pedestrian Via XX Settembre, one of the shopping streets, you will reach Piazza Cavalli so called because the equestrian statues of Alessandro and Ranuccio Farnese are placed there, where you will admire the Gothic Palace considered one of the most valuable municipal buildings in Italy.
In the evening you can relax with traditional dishes at our restaurant "La Veranda."
Sunday:
In the morning we invite you to visit the museums of Palazzo Farnese (opening hours from 9:30 am to 1 pm),the residence of the Farnese family in Piacenza, which include the art gallery, the carriage museum, the Risorgimento museum and the archaeological museum.
In the afternoon we recommend a visit to the finely frescoed Renaissance Church of San Sisto, for which Raphael's famous Sistine Madonna was made, a copy of which is preserved.
This itinerary will allow you to see some of the city's monuments and two jewels such as the Ricci Oddi Gallery and the museums of Palazzo Farnese.
